The NATHALIE ORA is located at 2606 Hwy 334 in Wedgeport, Nova Scotia

Wedgeport is an Acadian fishing community in the Municipality of Argyle, and known as the Tuna Fishing Capital of the World.

A mere 20 minute drive from the ferry terminal, Wedgeport is located on a peninsula, surrounded by the Tusket river and the ocean. Whether you’re planning to spend two days or a week, or the entire summer, there are plenty of exciting adventures and culinary experiences awaiting you:

At Wandering Chef Café & Bistro enjoy the best tasting organic and fair trade speciality coffee and espresso drinks or regular coffee in all of Southwest Nova Scotia, freshly baked treats, breakfast, lunch or dinner. Depending on season, relax next to the stove, or soak in the sun on the deck with a nice cup of tea or hot chocolate, or ice cold Italian soda. (Open all year, free WiFi).

Or visit Small Fry's restaurant at the Tuna Wharf for local seafood, chowder, and burghers (dine in or take-out).

Stop by our famous Tuna Wharf and the Tuna Museum to learn about the history of tuna fishing, and the famous people who have traveled here to sport-fish. Learn about our past as an 19th Century International sailing harbour, and the history of Acadian families who settled here.

Take a leisurely hike along the ocean and marsh at Wedgeport Point Nature Trail (or walk the entire length of 5,4 km), bring your beach chair and sit by the water and take in the atmosphere, or admire our Starlight certified dark nights skies from our publicly and wheelchair accessible Starlight platform at Wedgeport Point.

Reserve an unforgettable day trip by boat to our enchanting Tusket Islands with Tusket Island Tours and a unique and most interesting night time tour of Deep Sky Eye Observatory in Quinan with local astronomer Tim Doucette.

We also recommend a visit to Canada’s oldest standing Court House, take a tour and see and experience first hand how people fared at the court house jail in the 1800s!

The Historic Acadian Village in Pubnico, is an experience you’ll greatly enjoy, and we also recommend a stop the Acadian Museum of Pubnico.

Before heading back to Auberge Nathalie Ora in Wedgeport, stop for lunch or dinner at Red Cap RestaurantDennis Point Cafe at Pubnico harbour or The Hatfield House.

In the evening enjoy a nightcap at Auberge Nathalie Ora, depending on the season either watch the night skies either on the deck, next to the Japanese style pond, or at Wedgeport Point, or cuddle up cozily inside, next to the electric fireplace in the kitchen or living room.

Guests at Auberge Nathalie Ora are welcome to access our Wedgeport tennis court free of charge (a three minute walk), and the Auberge provides tennis rackets to its guests upon request, free of charge as well.
